Re: Accessing Video Files in Informix

The Informix Video Foundation DataBlade is available for storing exactly this type of information. In general though one doesn't want to store video files directly in the database since the size of your database will go right through the roof. (One of our customers would have a 20 petabyte database system!). What you end up with in the video DataBlade is a way of managing links to existing video servers, and ways of indentifying and playing of specific clips within that video. The principle design focus of the blade has been for video archive search, editing control and production control of video.
