Are you completely positive about the port number? Does 'telnet thehost 1525' connect? Is there any sqlexec line in your C:\\windows\\services file before the one you mentioning maybe? Oh, and: are you completely sure you saved the services File with the proper name? Some damned windows editors give it an extension (txt maybe) when you save and you dont see that when you use the explorer default settings. And are you sure that you use the microsoft ip stack really? If there is onnet on the machine for example, the services file to edit is in another location. Is there more than one services file on your machine anyways? Maybe you should try to install the MS ipstack again... Sorry, just guessing, Dirk
