Renaming a raw device

My database server resides on /dev/rdsk/informix_1 (say), which is a symbolic link to a raw device. A new application is being introduced to my UNIX server, and I wish to rename /dev/rdsk/informix_1 to /dev/rdsk/informix_appname_1 (say), which will remain linked to the same raw device. Can this be done without dropping and re-establishing the link, re-initialising the database and re-importing all the data? Thanks Neil Truby Chase Manhattan Bank Bournemouth, UK
