Transactions and Store Procedures

Hi! I am using SQLWindows over Informix On-Line 7.1. I have a store procedure that needs to open a transaction a close it, inside the procedure. My problem is this: if I start that procedure from a 4GL, during a transaction or from SQLW (which is allways in transaction mode), I allways get the "Already in transaction" error... In SQLW, it is possible to start a new transaction and if I remove the BEGIN WORK and the COMMIT WORK from the store procedure, it will be fine; however, how do I do the same on 4GL (or SPL, I am not picky to demand 4GL to start a new transaction... The store procedure may do it itself and would be a solution to all my production environment)? Thanks in advance, Nuno --
