Actually, I believe that he stated that he had an EMC array. When we were testing them out, we had our best performance numbers by reducing buffers from our typcal 600,000 or so (on large systems) down to 1,000. It was found that the cache in the drive array actually performed better than the database cache (surprised me, but that's why you should ALWAYS run your own benchmarks rather than trusting to "common sense"). -Richard
