D4GL is considerable more expensive than R4GL/C4GL both for development and for deployment of applications for commercial apps. The runtime fees for D4GL apps is MUCH higher than for Legacy 4GL. In addition, Informix controls the pricing of C4GL and R4GL while 4Js controls pricing of D4GL. Informix could drop the price of Legacy 4GL and its runtimes to promote the products and as a leadin to D4GL. Art S. Kagel
