Interesting... We're still able to get support for IDS 7.x for Solaris 9 on x86 (for a price). % uname -X System = SunOS Release = 5.9 Machine = i86pc % onstat -VInformix Dynamic Server Version 7.31.UD7X6 (I suppose "inexpensive" depends on your point of view. I'll certainly agree with the word "solid".) Makes sense to me but I hope IBM reconsiders that position in light of Sun's AMD-based product line. The response from that IBM rep *is* interesting! It conflicts with IBM's updated support for Solaris x86. IBM announced last year that they now support IDS 7.31UD7 on Solaris 2.6, 8, 9 and 10 x86. http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data/informix/ids/requirements/solaris-x86.html We at Sun were very happy that the Informix team certified IDS 7.31 to run on Solaris 10. Sun and IBM continue to work closely to further their platform support; I hope I'll have some good news to share with you soon. glen
