Dbaccess AND Informix 9.3

We are in the process of upgrading to IDS9.3 and I'm
migrating all the scripts to the new environment. I
have hit a road block where the following is a
problem.
WITH 7.3x
echo "select tabname from systables" |dbaccess db |sed
-e 1,4d
would yield the table names alone, but
WITH 9.3x
the same command yield's
tabname <table name>
column_name Column_Value
This is easier to handle if there were only a few
scripts, but with a whole lot of scripts, I looking
for a possible solution with the "Dbaccess" tool to
turn off the "Column Heading".
Do let me know if you know of a possibilty or if you
have/had the same situation and worked around it.
Thanks
Abraham

In 7.3, tabname was a CHAR(18); in 9.30, it is VARCHAR(128).
Select only the 18 first characters :
select tabname[1,18] from systables
