Here is a better one: http://www.informix.com/informix/products/tools/comptool/ddvb.htm >I still see nothing on platform support, availability, *price*, etc. This page contains information on platform support: "System Requirements - MS VB 4.0a-32 bit MS Windows 95 and Windows NT 3.51 or higher 28 megabytes hard disk space Visual Basic-compatible hardware configuration 12 MB RAM (16 MB recommended) VGA or higher resolution monitor" For information on availability and price you should see your sales rep. If you would like to see that kind of information on the web site, tell the webmaster about it with the "feedback" button. It does look like it should be there, IMHO. >I'm working on projects at two companies who have an immediate need for >this tool (after more than a year of stick-building ESQL/C CGI programs, >I'll do anything). I'd guess that marketing managers at seminars are too distant from the actual details of making a sale to know things like price and day-to-day availability. Much like support people. :) Sadly, this hyper-competitive business requires a marketing strategy that is, to say the least, "optimistic." Be sure to examine products, especially new products and their release projections, with a jaundiced eye. That said, the DD product for VB and for Java looks like an exciting leap back into the tools and applications development arena. This question has come up before, so I hope it's clear >that people are interested in this product, but can't get any details. I thought it had, hence my referral to the c.d.i. archives. The entire IIUG crew will be in attendance at the User Conference next week, along with most of the Informix Sales organization. That would be an excellent opportunity to pump both groups for better information and actual demonstrations. You might even catch a glimpse of why the IIUG hasn't yet made the time to implement IUS on its server. Good luck with your project. I sincerely hope you find a good solution with the DD.
