Replication and Ontape

A very simple question here. I'm using Informix 9.21 UC 5 on Sun Solaris. Can I use ontape to do a level 0 backup and log backups on the secondary ? In the event of failure, I assume I can use these on the primary. I have not seen any documentation contrary to what I am trying to do, but nothing to support it either. I am going to try it out but have run into other unfortunate issues. TIA, Jack A

Why log backup on sec. server ? and not on primary? If a failure occurs you will switch sec. server as primary and you will have all the logs files there. After a failure your former primary server brings up as secondary then will get all the logs from the current primary server.
