Poor performance after HP-UX upgrade

We recently upgraded our O/S from HP-UX 10.2 to 11.0. We did this by moving to new machines with significantly improved CPUs. The database resides on an EMC disk array. The disk array was rewired from the old machines to the new machines. Since the O/S upgrade a number of jobs have performed significantly worse. It seems that I/O intensive database jobs are running into a serious bottleneck. Run times for updating statistics have tripled. In addition, run times for jobs which perform joins on large tables have doubled. I suspect that the bottleneck is KAIO. We run with flag style KAIO using IDS 7.31ud5 for both 10.2 and 11.0. Has anyone else seen performance degradation of this type? Are there new kernel parms specific to HP-UX 11.0 that need to be set differently? We seem to be using the defaults for the aio related kernel parms (aio_listio_max, aio_max_ops, etc.). Is there any old kernel parms that need to be set differently on 11.0 vs 10.2? Is it worth trying to turn off KAIO? Is there other possible culprits besides KAIO? Thanks in advance for any help.
We upgraded to HPUX 11.0 years ago, attached to EMC disk, running various versions of IDS 7.31 with no problems. I assume since you just installed HPUX, you applied the latest patches, including HBA drivers. Why didn't you go to HPUX 11i 64-bit? It would be easy to test not using KAIO, if you can bounce the database and add some AIOVPS. What kind of throughput does sar, iostat, PowerPath and ECC show? I wonder whether there isn't a problem with the SAN setup. Good luck.
