No Redraw after Escape Key

I'm running SE 7.20 on Redhat 5.2 on the linux Console. After entering a query under <Q>uery Language and hitting Escape it works fine the first time, but thereafter doing the same thing doesn't re-draw the screen until I hit another key, or Cntrl-R to redraw. ie: q ...some select statement... Esc Nothing happens until I hit another key (which will be read and acted upon) I've tried doing it under xterm and rxvt also, with the same result. Anyone heard of this? (Nothing in the release notes about it). -rick
