Sending this message again. This time, I've given a little
more detail in the first situation scenario.
I'm developing a 4GL application in the C environment (i4gl)
and have produced two interesting and straneg situations
since adding a C function. The function accesses another db
for (mailing) address data.
First situation: Doing a query. After entering info. into
the first field and hitting return or ESC key, the cursor
moves back to the left field delimiter erasing the entry
from the screen. Input is successful on the second try.
What is causing this??
Second situation: Data is brought in from the other db
(name, company, dept. address, telephone, etc) and fields
are populated. In the process some field delimiters are blown
away. Each argument is terminated with \\0 eliminating trailing
extraneous characters before leaving the C function.
Why is this happening?
I'd be most grateful for any suggestions.
