Upgrading Informix 32 bit to 64 bit on Windows 200

I am trying to upgrade Informix 11.50TC5E to 11.50FC8 on Windows 2008. Can you upgrade a 32 bit version to 64 bit version in-place? Should I uninstall the 32 bit version, then install the 64 bit version of Informix? In unix it will upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit no problem, but will it do the same in Windows 2008 when the engine is started under the new version? Thanks, Jeff Jeffrey J.
