Assuming you're doing all of this in a single transaction, it wouldn't work.
Because the secondary won't get fully updated until you've done COMMIT WORK.
If you're doing this without transactions, then I'm not sure I can explain
the behavior. Once we've got HDR on-line here (we're currently implementing
it), I'll see if I can replicate this.
