Re: Informix 5 SQLEXECD question
Posted in 2006
You can try defining SQLHOSTS on the server for example like below,
instance1 protocolname machinename service1
instance2 protocolname machinename service2
Start sqlexecd daemons ,
For instance 1, after setting INFORMIXDIR , start the first sqlexecd,
export SQLEXEC=$INFORMIXDIR/lib/sqlturbo
export TBCONFIG=tbconfig.instance1
$INFORMIXDIR/lib/sqlexecd service1
For instance 2, after setting INFORMIXDIR, start the second sqlexecd
export SQLEXEC=$INFORMIXDIR/lib/sqlturbo
export TBCONFIG=tbconfig.instance2
$INFORMIXDIR/lib/sqlexecd service2
Now test this using dbaccess to see if you can access the databases
from these two instances.
For detailed setup and configuration please refer IBM INFORMIX NET and
IBM INFORMIX STAR documentation.
For question (3), as you are granting connect privileges by userid, you
can connect to the databases using the approprated userid.
Thanks
