Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Mo asked how to tell which HDR system, primary or secondary, is currently up on Informix 11. Obnoxio The Clown and Fernando Nunes asked for clarification; Fernando suggested trying the primary first via SQLHOSTS or using the Connection Manager (11.5). Nilesh Ozarkar pointed to the documentation on monitoring HDR status. Mo did not reply further.

Not sure if I understand the request.
You can check if a system is up if you can connect to it... But this is
obvious, and apparently not enough...
You can use SQLHOSTS to try the primary first and if it doesn't work
automatically go to secondary...
If 11 ~ 11.5 you can use the connection manager. With proper configuration it
will redirect you to the correct instance...
Can you explain what you're trying to do?

My email works... but I don't check it frequently...
Are you asking if there's a way for you to determine if it's running against
a primary or secondary ??
