DATA REPLICATION After a Failure
Posted in 1996
Hi,
Informix DSA Ver 7.11 UC2. We are trying Data Replication.
If Primary server fails we need to follow following steps to restart
Replication.
Steps discussed in I-On-line Dynamic Server Admin. guide (V 7.1) for
Restarting Data Replication after critical media failure on the primary
database server when DRAUTO = 0 are as follows :
1.
The original secondary database server was changed to a standard server,
Bring this database server to quiescent mode and then use
onmode -d secondary prim_name
command to change type back to secondary.
2.
Restore primary database server from the last archive.
If last archive created on primary database server is old OR
If last archive created on primary is damaged Then
Question:
CAN I USE LAST ARCHIVE CREATED ON SECONDARY WHEN IT WAS IN STANDARD MODE ?
If I CAN then when should I use
onmode -d secondary prim_name Command on secondary server ?.
Anyone needs more details for the above mentioned problem Please write to me.
Thanks for your help.
