Re: Onconfig file parameters

Hi
For the ontape parameters in ONCONFIG, reboot of the server is not
necessary. Each invocation of ontape will read the ONCONFIG's ontape
parameters for that instance execution.
thanks. Davis.

Do changes to config parameters in the onconfig file require reboots ? The
manual does not state which parameters are static ( no restart of informix)
and which parameters are dynamic ?
For example what do I make of this description in the Administrators
Manual:
If you use the ontape utility, use the following parameters to describe
your
tape devices.
Configuration
Parameter Description
TAPEDEV Specifies tape devices.
TAPEBLK Specifies the block size of the tape device.
TAPESIZE Specifies the maximum amount of data that should be written to
each tape.
LTAPEDEV Specifies tape devices.
LTAPEBLK Specifies the block size of the tape device.
LTAPESIZE Specifies the maximum amount of data that should be written to
each tape.
