Is it possible to link ISAM-library with ESQl library on HP-UX 11.0 machine?

In the make file treat the two libraries as separate libs. Since there is no function overlap, between these two libs, there should not be any problem. If you see any problems, please let me know, as i also will be doing something like this in near future. I can help in resolving this. In practice, it is more likely that you won't. Ananda suggests that there is no overlap between ESQL/C and C-ISAM; that is not correct. With the GLS-aware versions of ESQL/C, you get the GLS library in common. Even with earlier versions, there are general purpose library functions which are used by both, and these can cause problems. In fact. one of the issues I'm working on at the moment is fixing this problem (or, more accurately, getting this problem fixed). Try it and see. If you're lucky, it'll work. If it doesn't work, add your voice to the hue and cry for the people who broke this compatability. Incidentally, you may or may not be able to mix ODBC and ESQL/C in a single program, too. It was certainly a problem say 3 years ago -- one would hope it had been fixed by now, but... -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com) #include Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 (v0.61_02) -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN Informix IDN for D4GL & Linux -- http://www.informix.com/idn
