Pretty basic onbar restore question...
Posted in 2009
Topics: Backup & Restore
Hi everyone. I know this is a pretty basic, general question. But I would like
to be sure about something related to restoring with onbar.
My question is...regardless of what storage manager is being used...whether
that be NetBackup, or ISM, or Networker or whatever....when you need to do a
restore with onbar in all cases you still do the restore the same way, is that
correct?
In other words...say your storage manager is Netbackup and you need to do a
whole system restore you....
A) set up your informix and onbar environment variables
B) onbar -r -w
Now with Networker you would....
A) set up your informix and onbar environment variables
B) onbar -r -w
With ISM.....
A) set up your informix and onbar environment variables
B) onbar -r -w
Yeah I know...strange question.
Thanks, will
Yes, it is correct :)

Basically it's the same as onbar is just receiving the data to be restored
from the storage manager. Be aware however that there are differences. I.E.
ISM has extra onconfig parameters and NetBackup has it's own environment
variables.
