If I, in this day and age, had a customer who wanted to use MS-DOS in this way I would tell them to go elswhere. It would be substantially cheaper for the customer to upgrade to Windows, even if that meant they would have to buy new PCs, and the users would be so much more happy. But of course there may still be situations where you can't do this for some reason, may be there are too many PCs to upgrade. There used to be an I-Net for DOS, and I assume therefore also an ESQL/C. If you can get hold of these products from Informix, and the right C-compiler to go with it you might be able to do what you want. You shouldn't expect any support though, and therefore any bugs you find may stop you dead.
