Two Instances and Recovery

Hi, I have this scenario. I have two instances of Informix on different Machines , Production and Backup. I take an archive on Production and restore the same on Backup, so that both Databases are in sync. I have continous backup of LogicalLogs written to disk on Production. Now suppose the Production instance goes down and it is going to take some time to bring it up( due to say , a disk error). Can Iin such a case , take the LogicalLogs on Production and RollForward on my Backup Instance, so that the Backup instance becomes the Production ?? Is this possible ? If not, what can I do so that the Backup can function as the production ? ( I am aware of CDR but I know whether there are any other alternatives besides that) I would like to hear from those who have similar implementations also. Thanks Max
