Exactly why I wanted a pointer - I have no manuals. I did kinda know how to do this just needed that small pointer that Paul Watson gave.

There is no real excuse not to get the manuals. They're available online at http://www.ibm.com/software/data/informix/library That assumes you don't have an unreasonable prejudice against PDF files.
