tech notes

PHil, thanks to John Baker, LBAD, whose acquaintance I made thru this list, I learned that, given a valid maintenance contract, you can get tech notes by calling Informix (for me,here is Eastern US at least) it is 800 438 7627, and dial X6671 for Deb Rye at the tone. I have never asked for old Technotes, but maybe, maybe... A PS to Johnathan Leffler...some of ARE still on what you call ancient platforms, running ancient (pre 4.1 versions) of software. There is no money to buy new platforms, and Informix will no longer provide the versions beyond 4.0 for our platforms. Perhaps the requestor to whom you responded is in the same situation. Believe me, it is not for lack of trying we remain and 4.0!! I am even considering going back to 2.1 on some because 4.0 is so buggy and Informix will not even provide fixes to bugs, like allowing nulls into a no null field, on our "ancient" platform! 4.00.UE2 is the "top of the line" for us (or the bottom??!) PPS: Since I have no more tape updates coming, is ther a separate pricing for hotline only support? My sales rep hasnt yet returned my calls this week either. Maybe I forgot my Listerine!
