Also supported are IRIX, SNIX , SCO and of course Nope. SE 7.24.UC1 is ported to AIX 4.2 but 7.24.UC2 is NOT ported. According to UK Technical Support. a) SE 7.24.UC2 is ported to Solaris and Tandem b) AIX is a bitch to port to c) We can have a port done in the UK (X1) not properly QA'ed in 2 weeks!!! Yes right, the customer has tried to run the report 7 times in the last dayt and run there business off this report d) We can have a port done in the USA which will take one month.. Sorry guys, we couldn't wait so I coded a workaround in a fantic 1 1/2days.. PS The bug was select "" from t1 union select col1 (a char(1) column) from t2 returns -308(?) something like that incompatible types in a union. Of course select " " from t1 union select col1 (a char(1) column) from t2 works but a) UNION = UNIQUE hence may give different results if t2.col1 contains " " b) the query gets passed to one of 8 modules which prepares it and does things with it to produce different reports. c) Some of these modules passed results from their cursor to other modules.. This has hardly impressed the customer who had the upgrade to SE 7.24 fail once when the autoconversion from an SE 4.x database produces a database we could not even get table info out of!! Guess who's going on site in one month for another upgrade.... >Microsofts Win95 with their PE engine and NT with the product line. > >But then again you said UNIX, so I shouldn't have mentioned Microsloth. > >-Mikey > -- David Williams Maintainer of the Informix FAQ Primary site (Beta Version) http://www.smooth1.demon.co.uk Official site http://www.iiug.org/techinfo/faq/faq_top.html I see you standin', Standin' on your own, It's such a lonely place for you, For you to be If you need a shoulder, Or if you need a friend, I'll be here standing, Until the bitter end...
