Distributed Join

I had posted a query a week back on distributed join. I got some replies saying that it was not clear. Let me rephrase it. The application I develop is a distributed one and needs to access data from different databases. ie. select from multiple databases. I cannot use SQL select because I use dbTools for DB access. Has anyone got alrogithm or code which does distributed join? WIll it be possible that to me mailed to me? What I want is an algorithm or code which gives a good performance and having less overhead.
