WARNING: the above method of using 'here' documents
is officially NOT supported by INFORMIX!!!!
We used this syntax extensively in our product, and experienced
some problems. This approach is NOT DOCUMENTED in the manuals,
even though it was taught to us in INFORMIX CLASSES by instructors
from Informix, and it is used in Informix-delivered demo programs.
Our on-site Informix representative queried
some big-wig [perhaps even the President], and his reponse
was that demo programs do NOT contitute documention.
[My response to that is probably inappropriate for a public forum].
Anyway, be aware that if you do use this approach, that as
a minimum, if you're concerned about the results of the ISQL,
you should trap the error output, and do appropriate analysis
to check the results. Simpley checking the return code from
the isql might not be sufficient.
