But this fairly familiar drivel is going poorly with me and I would hope the same is true of my colleagues. --------------- STUFF LEFT OUT --------------- > You invest $5, and you recieve a return on your investment. I suspect it is perfectly legal to peddle this scam up and down the houses of my neighborhood, but I would have a hard time looking someone in the eye doing it and if I could that I'd have a hard time explaining that they need to go a couple of hundred blocks away to carry it on. --------------- STUFF LEFT OUT --------------- > 3) Post the article to at least 200 newsgroups. There are 17,000, so Superhighway or no, this is a glut on the bandwidth. This kind of refuse translated into discarded french fry containers would cover most of the rest areas in New Jersey. --------------- STUFF LEFT OUT --------------- > >From time to time, when you see your name no longer on the list, you > take the latest posting that appears in the newsgroups, and send out Does anybody work? --------------- STUFF LEFT OUT --------------- > This is the great plus of the Internet, people all over the world can > hear THIS is the great plus. Someone is surrounded by idiots. --------------- STUFF LEFT OUT --------------- This is obviously only my quixotic tirade. The last time I saw some of this I tried responding to sender and received the old electronic address unknown, and of course Mary-Margret is the same. If it were smart, which it isn't.... i if it were legal, which I suspect it probably isn't but will require some court case to establish.... it is still an abuse of the place we live and/or work. I work hard to make information available some if it by way of e-mail and I hear from users who are reluctant to accept what we need them to have because they have too much crap flashing over the transon. I have occasionally seen messages suggesting what to do about abusers-- write to a postmaster, respond with ugly messages, but like most of us, I have other things to do and shelve my irritation. However, if someone knows of an effective way to curb this crap, I'd be glad to help. -- Con Woodall Colorado St. U.; Veterinary Teach. Hosp.; Ft.
