help with INFORMIX - outside connectivity from windows platform

I have a SparcServer-5, System V Release 4.0, SunOS 5.4 Generic July 1994 I believe the version of Informix I have is -- INFORMIX-SE Version 5.04.UC1. I need to access the databases from VB/VB.net and windows XP. I have the SDK kit with odbc, .net providor etc. But I cannot get to the box from outside. I am assuming I need to install Informix NET or Star? How do I make sure I don't have this? I don't see sqlexecd anywhere. Where can I get this software? How much does it cost? How hard is it to install? Any information appreciated. Scott Emick Fox International
