Just a thought -- something I did for the accept key -- write a push/pop set of routines (in C). That's if 4gl will let you pass a window as a parameter to an external routine, I don't know (and don't have time to try it just now, sorry; I'm sure it's feasible somehow, view the results of c4gl ought to show how). Then just save them on a stack with push and reset with pop. This is what I did for a push/pop for the accept key since it wasn't always convenient to have it set to one thing (sometimes escape was applicable, sometimes return, sometimes nothing, etc.) and it works much better than trying to figure out what to reset it to via 4gl. Informix -- hint -- request -- provide ways to save the state of all the goodies like accept key, current window, etc., so we can save/restore them. -- Andrew Burt aburt@du.edu "But if he was dying he wouldn't bother to carve "Aaaaargh", he'd just say it."
