Informix 7.2.3 Login Probs HELP!

Let me preface this by saying I'm a Sys Admin with limited DBA skills... At my site, we recently put a larger root drive into an IBM AIX system running Informix 7.2.3 uc7. The database itself is actually housed on a Raid5 Disk group. The drive upgrade consisted of doing a mksysb on the old root drive, installing the new larger drive, restoring the mksysb from the old drive to the new, and finally, growing the partitions on the new drive. At the same time we also upgraded our existing 5.03 Informix to 7.2.3. That said; Prior to our drive/informix upgrade, our database was working as advertised. After the upgrade, we could no longer log into the Informix Database. It keeps responding with 'invalid user'. It doesn't appear to be a unix level problem since we can log in using the same users that Informix is complaining about. Could anyone give me a list of things to check? Thanks in advance! ps: We did what we thought was an identical operation on another Informix Server prior to this upgrade and all went well.
