We have a lvarchar field which stores the url of a site.
Recently, we got a request for a client to have a url changed temporarily
for a particular URL.
We had two options:-
(1) change the application code accordingly.
(2) put a database trigger to change it.
We opted for second assuming that it is easy to maintain it.
CREATE TRIGGER ins_venitn_trg
INSERT ON vendor_itinerary_info
REFERENCING NEW AS n
FOR EACH ROW (
EXECUTE function sp_venitn_trg(n.vendor_url ) INTO
vendor_itinerary_info.vendor_url);
create procedure sp_venitn_trg (p_url lvarchar) returning lvarchar ; define w_url lvarchar ;
if (p_url = http://www.blahblahblah/agents) then
let w_url = "http://www.boohboohbooh/agents" ;
else
let w_url = p_url ;
end if ;
return w_url ;
end procedure ;
When we test it this works OK. But in production system, quite
frequently, but not always, we get error -9635.
-9635 Illegal attempt to convert an opaque type into another type.
I don't see anything wrong in our code. Is this a bug.
