We are using, ESQLC, I4GL and ISQL. For the most part, all is fine. However, periodically, application programs which worked flawlessly under 2.11, receive one of two errors from the On-Line engine: -245 or -346. Unfortunately, these are very cryptic errors and appear on a random basis. When the programs are rerun with the identical queries, all works fine. Some additional information: On-Line is configured for 64 users . Forced residency is set to "Y". Tbcheck reports no errors. There are 2 page cleaners. No messages appear in turbo.log to accompany these errors. As many as 40 people may be doing concurrent selects and updates on the same group of tables. The text of the error messages is as follows: -245 Could not position within a file via an index. The database engine encountered an error looking up a row through an index. Check the accompanying ISAM error code for more information. The table file or the index file may have been corrupted. Unless the ISAM error code or an operating system message points to another cause, run the bcheck utility to verify file integrity. -346 Could not update a row in the table. While processing an UPDATE, the database engine received an unexpected error. Check the accompanying ISAM error code for more detailed information on the cause. Possible causes include hardware errors and locking conflicts. Any ideas would be most appreciated. Since I am desperate to solve this ASAP, mail is preferred. I will summarize for the list. -- Glen Gordon | Internet: ggordon@agsm.ucla.edu Computing Services | Bitnet : ggordon@uclagsm.bitnet Anderson Graduate School of Management | AT&Tnet : (213) 206-6590 University of California, Los Angeles | Fax : (213) 206-2002
