How do I find dbschema?

This is really basic, I'm sure, so please forgive me... I am trying to generate the schema for a database. Typed: dbschema -d dbname rose -o sch.list This should generate the schema for a database we created in SQL that we called rose, and put the schema into a file called sch.list. When I try this, I get the message "could not open file rose" so does Informix rename the database? When I run a find, I can't locate "rose" anywhere.
