Re: IDS Announcement

Seth, Where were you when it came time to talk about IUS on Linux in the linux-informix mailing list? We'd been pushing for damn near two years to get IDS ported, and the question of IUS came up, several times, and Informix even asked us what was the interest. Evidently you remain in the minority of ORDBMSes users. EVERY time we tried to poll for interest, we got lackluster responses from folks. So, you get what you pay for. Next time maybe you'll speak up when asked. It was hard enough to get IDS, so imagine the 10 of you out there that use IUS wouldn't have stood a chance. :-) Thanks, Tim Seth Grimes wrote: > > Look past the press release on-line > (http://www.informix.com/informix/press/1998/linuxids.htm) to the > Informix Developer Network pages if you have access. Only IDS 7.24 will be available on Linux. What about 9.x, > Informix? > > Seth > > ART KAGEL, BLOOMBERG/ NEW YORK wrote: > > > > The IDS announcement is up on the Informix WEB Site now.
