RE: informix newbie

Daniel,
I assume that you are running in Eindows. When you create a database in
windows the system creates an Informix account. User Informix, with the
same password. Log in as that user and then run program
ol_mymachinename from the Windows RUN menu. That should give you
access. And with all the correct environment variables set.
Regards
Malcolm

I tried running dbexport and I got the following error:
C:\\Database\\Informix\\bin>dbexport
ERROR: Could not initialize the security subsystem. Please ensure that
this account has the nec essary privileges and ensure INFORMIXSERVER
value exists in the registry and environment.
The user is and administrator of the system.
I put down the name of what I thought the INFORMIXSERVER should be (
ol_mymachinename ), and tried running it again and got this message:
C:\\Database\\Informix\\bin>dbexport
-23101 Unable to load locale categories.
Where can I find what environment variables I should set?
