[Original message SNIPPED] Just the opposite Brian. Since in ANSI MODE a transaction is begun as soon as the first SQL statement not already contained in a transaction is executed there can only be one transaction at a time in a MODE ANSI database and the delete does not begin a new transaction but becomes part of the implicitely begun transaction already in force.
