Re: NewEra programers

We moved from New Era to IBM's VisualAge for Smalltalk around more than two years ago. We initially used Informix-4GL (for both DOS and Unix). We tried the windows version of Informix-4GL which turned out to be a total disaster. We then moved to New Era starting with V1.0 up to 2.20. I was totally unhappy with the product that I blocked the update to 3.X and instigated an evaluation of different development environments (Delphi, Powerbuilder, VisualWorks, VisualAge) with New Era coming out last. So now, all of our existing 4GL apps have been and/or are being rewritten using VisualAge. All New Era apps will be rewritten next early next year.
