You now tell us there's an >undocumented SQRT function in both isql and 4GL. I've wanted this for *years* >to calculate standard deviations! I even once wrote my own. Arrrgh! Beware: there are different products with different capabilities. The "exp function" which is broken (in the sense that it only works with integer exponents), is the exponentiation operator in I4GL, quite a different beast from the EXP function available in SQL statements in the later engines, and therefore usable in I4GL if you write a SELECT statement. There is a documented SQRT function available in SQL statements; there isn't one in I4GL, to the best of my knowledge. The documentation in question is the 6.0 manuals, though the function was available in the 5.0x engines (well, I tested 5.02 and it seemed to be working correctly). >Please, tell me how to call the SQRT function. And to Informix: what OTHER >math functions are lurking undocumented that your fee-paying customers just >might like to know about? Dunno; they're undocumented. :-) Yours, Jonathan Leffler (johnl@informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h>
