Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
The poster asked whether Informix can export data directly into dBase .DBF files rather than via text unloads. Respondents agreed there is no native way to do this: Informix only unloads text. Suggested workarounds were to go through ODBC — e.g. link/import the Informix table into Access and export it as DBF, or use ODBC drivers for both Informix and dBase with a tool such as WinSQL Professional to copy data between sources — or to convert the text export with a dBase/Clipper tool.

Directly not, I hope this workaround works:
try to establish an odbc connection with for example access, link or import
there your Informix table and export it as dbf file.

No-Informix will _not_ export in .DBF format.
You will need to export in text, and then use something else (the
DBASE interpeter??.........boy, its been a long time <g>) to get the
text into .DBF.

Hi Frank,
There is no direct way in Informix to do that. However, you can use ODBC
to do that. All you need is an ODBC driver for DBase and Informix. You
can then download WinSQL Professional that allows you to export data
from one source to another. WinSQL can be downloaded from
http://www.imranweb.com/freesoft. Make sure you get the professional
version.
Thanks,
Imran.
