But there's also parameter in the kernel allows you to adjust how much time before timeout. Ours (AIX) call tcp_keepidle, some other would call tcp_keepalive. Default being 2 hours and we are setting it to 15min with yet to see ill effect. But yes, the quick way is to use different port if you don't need to change every frontend client setup (like NewEra :-().. Chris
