How many disk?
How large are they?
How many disk controllers do you have and how do they map to disks?
UNIX questions

Are you using raw partitions?
Are you using an LVM (Logical Volume Manager?
How many disk buffers do you have configured and how large are they?
What does ps -ef (or ps -aux) give?
Informix questions

What does onstat -a give?
Is CPU affine 'pinning' supported on your platform?
Is KAIO supported on your platform?
