We are using INFORMIX ESQL/C on unix boxes (SUNs and HPs) and have encountered the following problems. I would appreciate knowing if any one else has encountered these and their workarounds. Please reply to me (shen@crd.ge.com) directly, as I am not a subscriber to this list. Thanks. shen@crd.ge.com =========================================================== Problem 1 - memory leak In using cursors for queries, Informix tech support has informed me there is a confirmed memory leak problem. This problem can be observed through 'ps'. The SZ field in 'ps' grows as program runs. In our case, the program eventually aborts due to segmentation fault and a SQLCODE > 80000000 was generated right before the abort. Tech support suggested using a $free after a $close cursor. It didn't help. Any trouble shooting suggestions also welcomed. Problem 2 - Delete A set of delete statements were included in a program. These statements were created using a string buffer, $prepared and executed. After normal program termination, we discover the rows were not deleted. SQLCODE returned a 0 after each prepare and execute. However, if we take the same delete statements and generate a separate program and run the second program, the required rows were deleted. Any hints as to what's going on?
