Physical restore failed.. errno 61

I'm running Online Workgroup server 7.12 under Windows NT 4.0 service pack 3 and had a server problem where we had to restore from backup. When I first started the restore, it listed the contents of the tape fine (tape drive is a Sony 4mm DAT drive), but there was some kind of error in the beginning of the restore and I cancelled the restore. Now, when I try to restore again from the same tape, it gives me this error: Physical restore failed - function Invalid archive tape failed code -1 errno 61. I've called Informix tech support and they told me that I was basically out of luck unless I could read the data off the DAT drive and possibly reconstruct whatever it had overwritten, if that was the case. I know of no utilities for Windows NT that could do this. Has anyone else had this problem, or have any suggestions? Thanks, R.
