Hi all. I am a sysadmin, not a DBA, an looking at the Joe Lumbley's "Survival Guide" (Informix Press), I've found to apparent contradictions. 1.- About default number of pages per extent: is it 4 pages/ext. or 8 pages/ext? (maybe the default is 16 KB/extent and then, depending on page size of 2 KB or 4 KB, the number of pages/extent varies?) 2.- It says tables can be allocated some initial size with the "CREATE TABLE" statement. But some times he refers to the "FIRST SIZE" and "NEXT SIZE" options, other times to "EXTENT SIZE" and "NEXT SIZE". Can anyone put a little light on this?
