I am definitely an Informix newbie, however I was able to get a core dump
with the following ESQL command (this on SCO version 4.0):
printf("Inserting a record.\\n");
$ insert into action_control (
active,
status,
create_date,
terminate_date,
user,
domain,
str1,
str2,
str3,
str4,
int5 )
values (
$tmpRec.active,
$tmpRec.status,
$tmpRec.create_date,
$tmpRec.terminate_date,
$tmpRec.user,
$tmpRec.domain,
$tmpRec.str1,
$tmpRec.str2,
$tmpRec.str3,
$tmpRec.str4,
$tmpRec.int5
);
The apparent reason: "status" and "user" are reserved words.
NOTE: I had just attempted to create this table previously with similar
statements - it might be that the two interacted to produce the error
but I'm not much interested in narrowing the problem.
While I have your attention: Is it true that Informix provides
"C" functions like "dtcurrent" and "dttoasc" but does NOT provide
headers for them?! This seems to be the case for SCO 4.0 and 4.1
which we have here... I further notice that there are no headers for
the generated "_iq" statements - this will make it painful to
use C++ (trust me!)
