Cursor type?? and a problem.

hello. ifx_*() is interface name of php3 for informix. 1. What difference between ifx_query() with(?^^;) ifx_prepare() function? It's ifx_query with ifx_free_result(), It's ifx_prepare() with ifx_do(). why do? ifx_query() must free the result. 2. What difference between IFX_SCROLL with(?^^;) IFX_HOLD in ifx_query()? (HOLD and SCROLL is Cursor type.) What name like Oracle's PL/SQL is? I have used Cursor in PL/SQL and PRO*C on oracle. I know That ESQL is like PRO*C.
