Following query should get u the desired result -
SELECT t1.exchg_time, t1.exchg_rate
FROM curr_table t1, curr_table t2
WHERE t1.exchg_time <= t2.exchg_time AND
t1.curr_code = "CAD"
GROUP BY 1,2
HAVING count(*) <= 5
ORDER BY 1
This solution will get u the last 5 records for the CANADIAN Dollars.
