How would you normally communicate with the database on the NT machine from the Unix machine? I'd expect to use an INFORMIXSERVER value that points to a record in the sqlhosts file that identifies the NT machine and specifies a network connection (oltlitcp or olsoctcp, depending on your Unix platform -- or possibly ol???ipx), and the relevant service name (which would have to be agreed upon by the administrators of both the Unix and NT domains). Alternatively, on the Unix box, you could use DBD::Net (or DBD::pNet?) to talk to the NT box, and on the NT box you could use DBD::Agent (or DBD::pAgent?) to listen to the Unix box, plus whatever it takes to get the Agent side to talk to the Informix database (DBD::Informix, presumably).
